Over 400 people converged on Centro Asturiano de Tampa to show their support of the launch of the nonprofit Operation Hope’s variety showcase, Tampa Star Showcase and its 12 talented singers, rappers, musicians, bands, dancers, and comedians.
Emceed by WTMP radio personality Aminta, the showcase opened with a special guest performance by Shawn Brown. Sponsored by WTMP, Howard McNight CPA, Showcase Music, Canty, Prince, & Associates, Big Johns Alabama BBQ, The WriteOne Creative Services, and Royal Cleaners, Tampa Star Showcase continued with a performance of all contestants of We Are The World and ended with a tribute performance written by founder Franklin Hills, Jr. honoring the late Michael Jackson.
In the middle and end of the competition, local dancers Golden Dancers and vocalists Latraia Savage and Marianna Jazmine brought the audience to the feet with incredible performances.
By the end of the competition, it was the powerhouse vocals of the eldest contestant, an incredible church choir singer named Cynthia Bailey that stole the show and the title of First Place.
